Alternative Display for Makerbuino

Is there an alternative Display for the Makerbuino. I see that the Gamebuino has a Colour Display. Is it possible to swap out the Nokia 5110 LCD for another Display? Different Resolution or Pixel Size, or ultimately a colour display? I see that the Nokia 5110 is an SPI Display, so is it possible to “plug in” a different SPI Display. Obviously the CPU Chip on the Makerbuino has limitations as to size etc that it can control.

Any ideas or suggestions?

the firmware is ment for the devices hardware, so changing the screen can cause issues, plus you have the case size
