Hi everyone,
My Artemis Watch is unresponsive. I think I may need to flash it back with the firmware. However I don;t seem to be able to set it into bootloader mode.
Would anyone be able to help?
Hello,
We’re sorry to hear your Artemis Watch is unresponsive. Could you please clarify what exactly is happening? For example, is the screen completely black, are notifications not showing up, or is the watch running slowly or not responding to buttons?
If possible, please also send a short video showing the issue — that will help us assist you much faster.
Once we have this information, we’ll guide you on the next steps.
Hi Ana, thanks for following up, and sorry for the long delay.
Here’s what’s happening: I was experimenting with uploading a custom Arduino sketch to the watch. Now when I power it on or plug it into my computer, the screen just flickers white rapidly - it never shows the Artemis logo or menu, and it doesn’t respond to any of the buttons or the lever.
The bigger issue is that my computer no longer detects any serial/COM port when the watch is connected via USB, on any of the button-hold combinations I’ve tried (Pair button, lever center-press, etc.) or across Windows and Mac. Without a port showing up, I can’t get esptool or the Arduino IDE to talk to it at all.
For what it’s worth, I do have a full flash backup of the original firmware (taken with esptool before this happened), so I’m hoping to restore it once I can get the watch into bootloader/download mode. Is there an official way CircuitMess recommends to force this specific watch into download mode? I haven’t found a dedicated BOOT button on the case, and I want to avoid opening it up and risking further damage if there’s a supported method I’m missing.
Happy to send a video of the flickering if that helps.
Thanks!
