I designed an easy screen protector build for the Nibble. My son would end up touching the screen and getting smudges on it so I wanted to add a screen protector to it.

I found the lack of screen cover problematic as well. I just re-used the battery cover from the bottom for a screen cover like you did. I suspect you can just drill out the 5 holes though rather than cutting out a section of it.
