Nibble screen lights up but nothing else happens

Hi, we are halfway into building our nibble.
When we switch to on:

  • the “turn-on” sound happens when
  • the screen lights up
  • Problem: nothing else happens

Two buttons generate sound, the reset button makes a sound too.

we took the batteries out, checked the solder connections, restarted and same situation

any ideas? thanks!
