Ringo Update #1 - It begins!

Hey everyone,

We have officially done it! :confetti_ball:

Nearly 3000 MAKERphones/Ringos have to be shipped and we are around halfway through it.
By the end of October, everyone should have their product in hands.

Thank you for the patience and suggestions, we couldn’t have done it without you!

If you have any trouble with the phone please contact us at contact@circuitmess.com or over the forum/Kickstarter page. We will reply as soon as possible.

Now onto the important stuff. Here are several updates we want you to know:

  • Our main tutorial page should be launched in a few days. It will explain some of the more basic functionalities of the phone as well as some of the more advanced stuff. Expect it to grow with a couple of new tutorials on a weekly basis.
  • ’CircuitBlocks’ is also going live in a few days. Basically, it’s our own IDE based on Scratch which should make programming new apps and games easier for everyone. It will also receive several updates during the next few months and we plan to expand it’s functionalities as much as possible.
  • We’ve updated Ringo’s board files in Arduino IDE. You can download the update over Arduino board manager and it should allow you to easily download and upload default Ringo software to your phone. Just go to Tools -> Programmer and select Ringo firmware. Then go to tools again and select Burn bootloader. Make sure you have selected the proper port before doing so.
  • Some of you have trouble finding the tutorial for Ringo assembly. The web location is written on a flyer you received in the box and it is https://circuitmess.com/build.
If you have any other questions about the build feel free to post them here on the forum.

That would be all for now.
Another update will come in a couple of days as soon as the new platforms are ready!

Cheers and keep making,
Robert
