I have seen the prototype to the virtual pet and believe that would be a very cool kit/project. (sign me up for two…) I think if you make it compact enough you could have it attached with a fabric watch band. As it would be a lot of micro/SMD components you could offset the lack of build and focus on a much more in depth guides on programming character creation, story and activities for the pet/sprite to do. Another thought, is to have wireless charging on it, it would be a good teachable moment for wireless power transfer and the benefits/negatives of that emerging tech.
