I have the, it seems, fairly common issue with my MAKERbuino of the screen having gone blank after a good few days of successful use. It went blank randomly during use one day. The lights come on when the device boots but nothing is shown on it. The device is well-assembled so I don’t think there is any problem relating to soldering etc. Please can you suggest troubleshooting steps.

When you interrupt the loading process, the console’s memory will be blank so you have to do a hard reset like this:
-
insert the SD card
-
turn the console OFF
-
hold the C button
-
turn the console ON
-
release the C button
-
wait for 30 seconds
The SD card loader menu should appear.

I am aware of this procedure and have tried it many times. Nothing happens. Please advise of debugging steps.

I am sorry to hear that the hard reset is not working here.
Please try reinserting the SD card a few times in order to clean the dust particles from the SD socket and then doing the hard reset again.
If that doesn’t help, please post a few photos of your console’s front and back side without the casing attached.

Hi @albertgajsak. This method worked. For a while it just said “insert SD card and restart” or something like that. But then it came right. I see now that the SD card contacts look very worn or poor quality.
Anyway, maybe I will find the time/motivation to finish the educational notes I started.

Hi, i have the same problem. Installed everything, and even (after some unsuccesfully trie outs) i saved setup, but SD Card is not loading. I have always blank screeen. Tried tipps found here. Could it be SD Card? Is it possible to download it again from somewhere (in windows or linux)? Thanks

Look for MAKERbuino bootloader and games. It could also be the soldering joints. Can you send a couple of photos of your soldering joints so we can see if there are any problems there?
