Macbook Air cannot connect to Byteboi

M1 2020 Macbook Air running Sonoma 14.7.6. I am trying to connect to a byteboi. I have tried using chrome and firefox, both most recent builds, both tried in cognito mode.

With firefox, I downloaded CricutBlocks agent and it’s running.
With chrome, I confirmed that the website has permission to connect to USB. I also confirmed that usb accessories are allowed to connect through iOS settings.

I have tried 2 different usb-c cables, and both ports on mac, on both I am able to charge the device from my computer, but I am not able to connect.

I get a “no compatible devices found message” when I try to connect.

I have tried resetting the device and my computer.
