Teach Spencer

Hi, with my kids we’ve assembled Spencer. It is a beautiful project!

Once connected with the net it gives some basic conversation. When we ask it “What is your name”, “What’ll be the weather tomorrow” Spencer gives some good sounding replies.

Now, my kids want to teach him Catalan and Dutch, but we have no clue yet how we can upgrade his skills!

When we tell our names, he politely answers that these are beautiful names, but he refuses to store them, so it’s difficult to build up a relation.

When we have the circuitmess application connected, what would be the best steps for starters?

best,
Wouter

Like Wouter, I would also like to be able to add to the existing programming instead of replacing it. The lessons that have already been posted are perfect as an introduction, but it would be great to have the option of customizing Spencer’s base firmware.

For instance, I would love to see if it’s possible to add, “Spencer, do I need to wear a coat?”, and get a simple “yes” or “no” response based on the outside temperature. This would work a lot better with my children than telling them the temperature in degrees.

Also, Spencer beatboxing is hilarious. I don’t know that I’ve ever laughed at an Internet speaker like that before. Well done.

Yes, I’m currently adding Youtube Streaming (and searching). I’ll open up a pull request when I finish!
